Very Berry Love Bites
Make these treats in a flash! No oven required, so not even load shedding can hold you back.
Ingredients
Makes 12
- 1 packet (125g) Maynards Red & Black Berry Jellies, plus extra for decorating
- 1 packet (150g) Beacon Strawberries & Cream Twisters Mallows
- 2 Tbsp (30ml) butter
- 4 cups (1L) puffed-rice cereal (vanilla or strawberry can be used)
Method

Cut jellies into small chunks using scissors. Set aside.

Melt mallows and butter in a pot for 1–2 minutes (or in a large bowl in the microwave for 2–3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds).

Add puffed-rice cereal and jelly pieces and stir vigorously to combine before marshmallows cool.

Press mixture into 6cm heart-shaped silicone muffin cups, or press into heart-shaped cookie cutters. (See Good Idea for more ways to shape hearts.)

Press a few extra candies into hearts to create a studded look, if you like.

Set in fridge for about 15 minutes, or until firm.

Store in an air-tight container in a cool dark place for up to a week.
GOOD IDEA:
Spoon warm mixture into a deep 20cm dish lined with baking paper. Flatten the top evenly with a hot or wet spoon (to avoid sticking). Set completely and then cut with a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Any off-cuts can be heated one more time and reshaped.
